Solution for AV System Construction of Cultural Palace Concert Hall
I. Industry Background
Culture and sports constitute the soul and foundation of a nation, greatly boosting national economic development and social civilization construction. With rapid national development, cultural palaces, core carriers of public cultural services, occupy an important position in urban construction. As an indispensable component of cultural palaces, concert halls fulfill citizens’ artistic pursuit of music, facilitate the development of mass music culture, promote the construction of socialist spiritual civilization and inherit fine traditional Chinese virtues.
Concert Halls in cultural centers serve as venues for mass music events and original artistic creation reflecting public musical tastes. Citizens can participate in cultural activities via art troupes, choirs, moral education lectures and cultural forums to enjoy artistic charm and inherit traditional virtues, contributing to the development of national socialist culture.
Committed to public-oriented service, concert hall construction must satisfy professional acoustic standards for musical performance. Meanwhile, concert halls act as iconic landmarks of urban culture, helping residents build correct world outlook, outlook on life and values and fuel steady social progress.
II. Project Requirements
The concert hall is primarily designed for various musical performances including chamber concerts, large-scale symphony shows, solo recitals and city-level grand galas.
1. Adopt optimized layout for cost-effective construction under the premise of advanced, stable and high-performance system configuration to save investment cost.
2. Interior acoustic decoration complies with professional concert hall criteria to guarantee clear and full vocal reproduction, uniform sound intensity and consistent acoustic coverage across all audience areas.
3. Meet natural acoustic performance requirements for Chinese folk concerts and international symphony performances without excessive electronic reinforcement.
4. Support live broadcast and recorded program production for TV stations and radio broadcasters.

V. Design Scheme
Natural live sound is prioritized in concert hall design, which relies on direct sound to cover the whole auditorium. Speakers are minimized and centrally arranged on stage to avoid acoustic interference, deliver pure sound and consistent frequency response across listening zones. Precise coverage angle control effectively reduces sound scattering, acoustic feedback and energy loss to improve available sound pressure level and system gain margin.
To shorten the distance between audience and performers, terraced canyon-style layout is widely adopted with central performance stage surrounded by segmented audience blocks. Each block is enclosed with inclined acoustic reflectors, and motorized overhead reflectors above stage diffuse reflected sound evenly so every audience can receive balanced live music.
This 800-seat rectangular concert hall measures 40m(L)×40m(W)×25m(H), configured with left-right stereo plus front fill setup focusing on natural sound reproduction.
Main PA configuration includes four groups of line arrays split into upper and lower tiers: Upper tier uses SK-2010K line array (6pcs A+B+C); Lower tier adopts SK-2010K8 line array (6pcs A+B), concealed at stage corner positions. Four SK-2018DH subwoofers plus two SK-928S low-frequency cabinets are equipped for deep bass; six recessed SK-708 compact speakers embedded on stage, alongside six SK-712F stage monitors for performers.
